Frederick Bryant emigrated to Australia around 1914. Louisa Bryant came out with her mother, son (who was raised as her brother) and her cousin on 2 April 1914 aboard "Themistocles", bound for Australia. On the shipping records, the names are recorded as Louisa Sheppard, Charles Sheppard and Florence Sheppard. Florence was actually Florence Quick, a cousin to Louisa. Fred & Louisa lived in the Kingsford area. Fred worked on the Tramways.

Fred and Louisa had three children: Maurice Frederick Charles (born 18 March 1915, died 7 July 1977); Mavis (born 19 January 1920, died 12 January 2003); and, Stanley Francis Robert (born 5 august 1922, died 15 August 1985).
